Lady Kitty Chisholm
Founder & Trustee

Kitty Chisholm started her career in 1969, teaching English as a foreign language.  She joined the OU in 1972 as a student and in 1974 as a part-time research assistant.  Kitty found a new career in the 90s as Development Director, first at the OU where she co-founded the KMi, then at Brunel, where she helped the Engineering Design students take their brilliant end of year show, Made in Brunel, to London.  Having secured funding for the Brunel Urban Scholars, she saw young people who were considered failures at school, reach Cambridge, Harvard and Yale, and start great careers.  Following an MSc at Henley, where she was introduced to applied Neuroscience, Kitty became a coach, and co-founded Boardwalk Leadership, a boutique consultancy, to support more women into leadership roles and organisations towards developing more inclusive cultures.

Kitty’s work gave her a passionate interest in how individuals and organisations learn and change.  It confirmed her belief that every person has the capacity for extraordinary achievements in some sphere of their life.
